Boyd - My Story
I'll tell you a little about myself. I always, like, go back and forth all the time- like repeat myself. I'm going to graduate from high school this year. That's going to be great, because then I'll have my high school diploma, and then I can get a job, like maybe as a security guard or a life guard. I'm a good swimmer. I swim all the time. I was on the swim team for a while - I got kicked out!
And also I like to play on the computer a lot. I talk to lots of friends. And I go hang out places - do new stuff sometimes. Like today I go over to a friend's house to spend the night and go to Six Flags tomorrow. And next summer I go to Florida, and hang around down there. I'm thinking about getting a Harley Davidson. There's a '97 Harley Davidson I wanna get.
I am a good bowler. I'm always up into the 200s. But my grandfather is the best. He was a Hall of Fame bowler at Oakland and he bowled like a 268. I play with lots of friends. I'm a busy man.
When I was growing up, I always - not always, but sometimes I got in trouble. Lots of people make mistakes, anywhere, like I, like I just did with my mom and dad. Last time, what I did on the computer, I locked the computer up! I locked it up for good.
This is really funny what I did in school. Know what I did? I snuck in the library with nobody knowing. So I got on the computer and I typed in the security system on the computer. I broke into that. I broke into that code and then I changed the settings in there.
They didn't find out who did it. They just - they were shocked. They could find, they couldn't find no - I turned off the lights on the computer. I turned on other things on the computer. The funny part is that I activated the security system again on the computer. So what I did, I looked at somebody else's file. That was the funny part. What I did is looked at somebody's e-mail file and I, and I printed it out. I printed it out and I snuck into the office and got the print out. And this really true because, this is really true. My mom hasn't found out yet.
So what happened is somebody typed into the computer, and they found out somebody else's password and sent a message to me on the computer. And I snuck into somebody else's file. So the funny part is what I did on the computer, the whole computer got messed up. I didn't mess it up on purpose 'cause I knew the person. This person was not happy when when I looked in her file.
So I got in trouble by my mom and dad. But I've learned not to do it again. You can learn from your mistakes. Lots of people make mistakes. When I was growing up I thought being a man was like being strong. Going to the gym and work out more so you can be stronger everyday and stay healthy. You can't drink sodas all day, you can't sit around. You drink milk, lots of milk. You work out to be strong, stay in shape. Got to treat your body like you want to be treated. Your body is more important to you. And drink water, don't waste it. Water cannot be wasted, because water is - the system in your body is called H20. And that is, H20 stands for hydrogen, oxygen, and H20 is water. So that's based on your health.
You work out to be strong, stay in shape. Being in shape, being strong, and be cool and you get more friends.
I'm part Indian from the tribe Sioux. And my dad is, how I got to became a - an Indian. My dad's blood is in me. And the reason my life has changed is because I am part Indian. I don't know a whole bunch, but I know a little. Being a Indian's kind of like being a hero. It's kind of like a movie star - like the guys on California Dreams. That's my favorite show. It's a TV show, so there are a lot of people you might know in there. Like Tony, Jake Summers, Matt Garrison. They have a band. So I had a dream to be like Jake Summers. I want to manage a band. And so, what I want to be when I grow up is like a star. I want to be a TV star and be in a band and plus lots of other things - teach people how to dance like Patrick Swayze.
What I like to do is work downstairs on my typewriter. What I'm doing is - like, I'm typing up lyrics to songs for my band. We got the guitar with the drums. We got to find-- we got to find a bass player. I get around and check out other groups-- see the leaders and who does the back up. That's what I'm doing usually at the house. I got some people to play with. I sure got lots of friends. Everybody knows me.
So I want to manage a band. Plus I write the songs. That's why I'll be the leader of the band. We have to practice very hard, a lot, to be in the band. Whoever wants to be in the band, can come to me and ask the questions. So if you got any questions with the band, feel free to ask me.
I have lots of dreams. I want to be a lifeguard because you know, a lifeguard is more important than anything in the world. So when I grow up, I want to go to college. I want to go to law school to be a security guard. Because one of my friends is a security guard at the mall, and that's why I want to be, that's why I want to be a security officer too - to see my friend.
I want to live on my own. I'm not ready for that yet. I've got to graduate first. And I've got to pick a time to live by myself 'cause I have to pick the time to find - find the right house. I could build a house. I'm good at building things like houses. My dad is the best. He's actually a real construction worker. Now he has another job. He's working for the University. Sometimes my mom and my dad works late and I got the house all by myself. I'm the man of the house when he's working. I take care of the house. I lock-- I lock the door so no one gets in.
Maybe I'll learn to live on my own. There's a lot to know. Got to do the laundry. You got to do the dishes. You got to feed the kids. I don't have children - not yet. I wish I did. I'm young, but I still like to be a father. See, I'll still make a good father. It takes a man like me to be a good father for the kids. Parent's have got to feed the kids. You got to take care of the kids and you got to work. Find out who will stay with the kids - Is it you, your wife, a babysitter? I'll have a rule with my kids. Sometimes if they don't follow the rules, sometimes you have to bend the rules, enforce the rules. But it's kind of hard to do.
See, when I grow up, I want to get married. So marriage depends on your trust. You got to, you got to trust your wife, and your wife has to trust you. And you got to trust the kids. You got to have communication. So you got to have the right basic rules about marriage. I want to get married because I'm the right person to be trusted. And I'd be a good father. And I always tell the truth. Well, I don't tell the truth always, but I do tell the truth. So spend time with your kids.
Friendship is very important to me. I always - I always go and hang and around with friends. I got friends everywhere. Kind of hard to get rid of them - not that I really want to. Nothing can interfere with my friendships. The most important is treating people how I want to be treated by somebody else. There's some people that treat me like, like the enemy, but that doesn't interfere with my dreams. And the farther somebody tries to be an enemy, you just don't worry about it. You got to stand your ground 'cause nobody should treat you that way. Cause if they try to treat me in a bad way, you act the same. I act the way I like to be treated. Nobody can be treated with all my trust. My trust always has to be earned. Lying is nothing that I accept. Lying is bad. So all I want is the truth.
Fighting doesn't do any good. Fighting can, can be dangerous for you or dangerous for the other person. And fighting doesn't solve anything. I pick friends that don't have you do bad stuff - like drugs. Drugs can hurt lots of lives. Even smoking's bad for your health. Smoking and taking drugs - it's not a wise choice because they say, like, drugs - they can mess up your mind and your body and your friends. It's a nutty idea and uncool to take drugs because it's not right, it's stupid, crazy and dumb. I don't take drugs.
So I just wanted to say - there's nothing, there's nothing in the way of my dreams. Nothing to interfere in my dream - only me, no one else. I'm proud of my life. I always felt like I would do something. I wanted to be in the band. Now I am. Nothing can get in the way except me. That's how I like it.
I'm out there to learn. So I can be someone. I can be something in my life. So I have a dream.
