Karen's Letters From Medallion

September 18, 1998

Dear Jack,

Hello, How are you and is everything going all right?

I am doing very well in laboratory class. It was hard memorizing at first, but I got it down. I am memorizing quicker now. I have the patience to measure the precise amount of substances to put together.

I was worried about the food in the cafeteria, since during my evaluation it was not to great. Now Brenda is managing the cafeteria, and everything is fresh. She will prepare my dish separate, since I can not eat dairy products.

Tom, the laboratory instructor, is a good person to talk to if I am having trouble with anyone.

The Francis house is all right. I am learning what I need, which is living with others and getting along. If a problem arises with someone, I think it is important enough to work out or forget. If it is I think about the proper way to present it to whom ever is in charge.

I opened a checking account the first Tuesday I was here with no problem. Martha Little took me. I found a checking account which the maintenance fee is only three dollars per month. I am only allowed to write ten checks a month and I can only use my ATM card five times per month.

I had better let you go, I will write again next month.

Your Friend, Karen
