The State Directors in Region 7 hosted this employment conference as a Kick-Off for our region’s involvement in CSAVR’s National Network. The objective was to impact our business relationships beyond the ‘status quo’ through the sharing of best practices, lessons learned from business and industry, and the development of state and regional strategies.
This conference serves as a launch pad for incorporating the dual customer approach into VR service delivery in our four state region, by aligning the VR system with business customers and building employer expectations into the planning process with consumers so that they have informed choice in building their career plans and access to a broader range of employment opportunities. Speakers addressed the “VR as one-company” service model, and VR’s role in the dual-customer approach, employer expectations in business networks. Participants heard directly from employers in several high demand job areas regarding their industries, hiring practices/expectations, and the value to VR in developing business relationships.
