Step 3: Prepare supports for efficient routines

Once an activity or routine is defined and planned, the facilitator should help the consumer identify supports for completing the routine. One simple support might be a check list of the steps needed to conduct the routine. The check list can be used by the consumer to makes sure he or she completes the activity in an organized and thorough fashion. For example, a job search might be turned in to a check list like the one below:

The complexity of a check list would depend upon the consumer’s needs and skills. However, a check list can be used to monitor activity completion and serve as a method of self-recording progress.
